Annual Day '10
Latest News
The long awaited Annual Day was celebrated on the 23rd of this month. The venue for the event was Army Public School, Ballygunj. The festive mood began with the lighting of the lamp by our chief guest, Dy. GOC of the Bengal Sub Area, after the opening address by our Director, Prof. KK Chaudhari, the stage was inaugurated by Miss. Aditi Chanda through her poised prayer dance. While the whole audience was still in awe of the first performance which left a charismatic aura behind, the stage was bombarded with the bollywood numbers. This time ranging from the 60’s to the 2000. The whole auditorium swayed with the performers. First to come where the chulbuli girls of the 60’s and then the dazzling beauties of the 70’s who mesmerized us by their graceful dance moves. Next to come where the 80’s and the 90’s disco queens, who were as electrifying as ever and last were the new generation y which stepped on the stage and added the cherry on the pudding.
The magic had not finished but only began. The show would have been incomplete with the musical play which the senior boys had in store for us. They were adorable, but the two boys disguised as boys’ figure definitely was the envy of all the girls present there.
Next we had the drama team up on stage. The central theme revolved around the future and past of this institute. There was no denying the fact that the play was inspired by real life instances happening in the college now, but still it left the whole audience in a jovial mood. We all were holding our guts and laughing out loud, this includes our beloved warden ma’am. As they say nothing is complete without shaking your leg to a bit of bhangra. First the soni kudiya from the land of Punjab presented a colorful and elegant gidda. The auditorium echoed of their claps, and next to them for the finale came the bhangra boys, grooving to the beat of bhangra. In the end the entertainers had done their job, the audiences had got on their feet and were in no mood to end the groovy beats. But it had to end and the function came to an end marking the end of another academic year. There would be no more excuses left for the students to stay away from their books anymore. As the examination phobia has already picked up, all we want to wish the students of AIMK is all the best.
