Another memorable edition of the alumni meet came to an end on the 12th of September.
Some of the alumni had begun arriving the previous evening taking the excitement level in college to a new high. The day began with a cultural event organized for the alumni. AIMs resident poet Anurag Tiwary set the mood with another humorous rendition followed by a catchy duet by the mba-13 girls of a popular Hindi song. Next up was Nitin with his gravity defying dance moves. Then came the crowd pleasing medley performance by the mba-12 girls that portrayed the now famous “interaction” in between the senior boys and junior girls with a pinch of humour. After the dance we had Jaydeo giving a soulful flute performance followed by Sunainas heartfelt poem.Mba-13 girls left everyone breathless with their energy packed hip hop performance providing the perfect platform for the next guitar accompanied rendition of the song “lemon tree” by Chirayu and Dennis that had the entire crowd humming along. The afternoon reached its crescendo with the pumping bhangra performance that had the alumni jumping for joy.
The action then moved to fort William where the 11th convocation ceremony for the mba-11 batch was held. The formal event consisted of various high profile dignitaries including LT.Gen V.K.Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, GOC-IN-C,Eastern Command and Patron AIMK Maj.Gen Ravi Dastane VSM,GOC Bengal Area & chairman AIMK, guests from the corporate, friends from the press also the entire faculty, students and parents. The respected director presented the annual report of AIMK which was followed by the distribuition of degree certificates by the chief guest to the students of mba-11.Akash Kumar Choudhury was given the army commanders gold medal for his exemplary all round performance,Savitha Bisht was given the silver medal and Neha Goel was given a medal for her performance in academics. After the ceremonial formalities had been completed the scene moved to the Basket ball court in the AIMK campus where a grand dance party had been organised, that saw all the students and alumni come out in their finest to dance the night away to the thumping beats of DJ Sheikh. Vijay Kumar Bhambu and Swati Mishra from mba-11 were adjudged Mr & Miss alumni. The josh was high ,the night was young and the good times rolled late into the night .It was a perfect ending to the wonderful day that made everyone nostalgic indeed, so adios friends until we meet again next year.
