Army institute of management celebrated its 12th year of establishment on the 28th of July 2009.The celebrations were organised by the new batch of AIM (MBA-13) and was attended by the director Dr.K.K Choudhuri, the registrar Col.Pramod Roy and the teaching faculty.
The proceedings were begun by an opening speech by Shreya Tripathi. This was followed by a soulful rendition of the Vandana by Ananya Roy Chaudhary. The bubbling enthusiasm of the students of MBA-13 was aptly showcased by the group song performance (Arundhuti Dhar, Ananya Roy Chaudhari, Namrata Srivastav, Gunjan Khanna, A. Sharmila and Swati Tiwari) of the song “badal pe paun hai” from the soundtrack of the inspirational movie Chak-de India. The next event was an energetic Bhangra performance by Ronnie Thomas, Sandeep Punia, Akanksha Ahluwalia and Nandita Mohan followed by a hilarious skit titled ‘An American Mahabharat’, performed by Usha Singh, Sajal Sharan, Sunaina Kaushik, Utkarsh Verma, Deepak Kumar, Pradeep Singh. A dance medley performed on western numbers by Somya Patra, Shayeri Dass, Kritika Ghai, Naina Mathur, Abhilasha Singh, Renu Bisht and Arpita Sandaliya certainly gave the evening a young and vibrant feel. A guitar accompanied rendition of the classic coldplay song “yellow” by Ronnie Thomas and Dennis Anand was truly sensational. After that we had a duet performance by Arundhuti and Neeraj Singh on the song ‘Pehla Nasha’. Not ones to be left behind MBA-12 was represented by the talented Anurag Tiwari who recited one of his original poems giving a humourus take on“Life in AIMK”. The last performance was a beautifully choreographed Indian Fusion Dance performance by Purnima Mathur, Nandita Mohan, Lata Tripathi, Akankasha Ahluwalia, Mandavi Dogra, Ronnie Thomas, Sandeep Punia and Mandeep Toor.
The celebrations came to an end with an inspiring speech by the Director followed by the vote of thanks given by Rubina Roperia. All in all it was a wonderfully organized event enforcing the fact that MBA-13 are worthy successors of MBA-12.
