On the 5th september afternoon when the clouds were grey and it looked like the sky would overflow any minute we the students of AIMK were all geared up to set the stage on fire. Teacher’s day is a function which is celebrated with quite an enthusiasm when we are in junior classes, as we get molded in our senior roles the enthusiasm takes an inverse route, but here we were all ready to celebrate a day dedicated to the one person in our life who guides us, scolds us, appraises us, scolds us, promotes us and yet again scolds us… we wish all our teachers a very happy teachers’ day. The program started by a warm welcome given to all our teachers by our council members. Each of them was presented our token of appreciation for all the hard work they put in to channelize our budding corporate minds. Also on behalf of the faculty our director, Prof. KK Chaudhari accepted a card made by all of us. A few inspirational and motivating words from him on the podium gave a kick start to the function. The next to speak on the occasion was our dear warden ma’am Mrs. Makkar. After a few words from her the green flag was shown to the program which was in the offing. The first ones to take the stage were the blue nightingales. The welcome bangla song sung by the girls appeased the audience, which a moment ago was restless, and made them enjoy the opening of the show. Next came the Punjabi kuddiya te munde. They stormed their way on the stage and conquered it by dancing on the Punjabi tunes. The music at a point of time was overpowered by the applause coming from the audience who had their feet tapping to the peppy numbers. We saw attitude, colorful duppattas and dance. An earnest performance was awaiting all of us when the students played an acoustic version of ‘time of your life’ by green day and dedicated it to the main attraction of the program -- our teachers. Last but not the least the MJ’s of AIMK came in to show some serious dance moves. It didn’t matter if they were in black or white, or wore hats with canes swinging rhythmatically with their feet, what mattered was that they drove the audience quite ‘dangerously’ wild. They moved like smooth criminals and sealed the show with a moonwalk. The greatest souvenir a teacher could get is seeing his/her student excel and reach great heights. But we would never forget them after scaling the rock and reaching the paramount. After all it’s them who showed us the track. All in all the program put up for them is an iota of our appreciation and love. Once again we wish all our teachers a very Happy Teachers’ Day
